Champion at Future Leaders Idea Challenge 2026: Presenting Krishi Sheba

I am incredibly proud to announce that my project, Krishi Sheba, was selected as a winning submission at the Future Leaders Idea Challenge 2026!

The competition's theme was "Future of Work in Bangladesh — Youth-Led Solutions for Employment and Entrepreneurship". This provided the perfect platform to address a critical, two-fold crisis: our farmers cultivate blind, and rural youth are leaving for the city. With 30–40% of harvests lost every year to erratic weather and unidentified diseases, Bangladesh needs a tech-driven, youth-powered intervention.

Introducing Krishi Sheba

Krishi Sheba is a Bengali-first AI crop doctor. By simply photographing a diseased leaf, farmers receive an instant diagnosis, a confidence score, and a treatment plan in seconds, all in their own language. The platform operates fully automatically in production; the model directly outputs the prediction's confidence score to the user in the UI. We ensure accuracy by keeping human-in-the-loop validation exclusively for training data curation. The entire experience is visual and app-based, intentionally avoiding SMS or voice IVR systems to keep the rollout focused and efficient.

Impact and Scalability

• Youth Workforce: The platform turns the digital literacy gap into rural income by training youth as Krishi Facilitators, Data Analysts, and Supply Chain Coordinators.
• Context-Aware Advice: Diagnoses do not just recognize the crop; they account for the specific district and season for locally grounded solutions.
• Sustainable Business Model: Revenue is generated through four streams: freemium subscriptions, marketplace transaction fees, B2B and NGO SaaS licensing, and targeted advertising.

This achievement is just the beginning. I look forward to advancing our pilot phase across Natore and Pabna, working to keep knowledge in the field and opportunity in the village!
